Il Sogno – Pizzeria and Italian cuisine

Restaurant Pizzaria and Italian conceptstore Il Sogno. Price range: medium

What a nice place to visit! Yes, it’s a pizzeria, but most of all this Italian concept store has a lovely easy going atmosphere. The restaurant is located in a busy area, close to Nieuwmarkt square, near Amsterdam Central Station.

When it’s not raining, you can sit outside too. I can see myself hop in for a coffee, work on my laptop or grab something to eat. Either way, plenty choice and the quality of the food is awesome. The staff is really friendly and whenever you’re ready, you can order at the counter and find a place to sit. We sat at the bar, a nice spot in the middle of the restaurant.

YUMMY! Tasty looking delicacies. See below: Cannelloni, gelato, and cookies.

While waiting for our pizza’s I was enjoying walking around in the restaurant, which is also a shop. Here you can find lots of oils, art, wines, delicacies, (cook)books and other accessories.

It was just me and the kids. We came in for dinner and luckily it was no problem that we didn’t make a reservation first. I ordered a Pizza Margarita for Nash and Amari to share, and a Pizza Vegetariana for myself.

I mentioned that I was looking around while waiting, but our pizzas came really fast! Everything in the restaurant smelled so good. Amari couldn’t wait to attack, but she doesn’t like “those green things” a.k.a. fresh basil.

Both pizzas were delicious, just the way I prefer them. A thin crust without the sogginess of the toppings. The pizza was light, not greasy and just very tasty. That was a good thing as I started to get hungry.

If you’re an Italy lover like me, you’ll enjoy everything you see. It almost feels like you’re in Italy. They told me that all the products they use and sell, are directly from Italy. Same goes for the beautiful coffee machine and their stone oven.

We loved this place and I’m curious to see if the lasagna and the cannelloni are as good as they looked. I’m sure I’ll be back for more!
